Blessing the Old into New

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Blessing - 1

Take the old, turn it into something new, spin the light, let my blessing shine. Growth begins, the new season awakes, from below, so above.

This dress from Wimey is really interesting. I picked it up last week, on Fifty Liden Fridays. It is still out, but I am not sure for how long. Wimey is a store I have participated with in a few events, but I can’t say I follow the brand. When looking for other colour options for this dress, I stumbled on their SL Marketplace Store.

It seems the main location is being redone, so when you visit, there really isn’t much for you to look at. If you like the dress, pop on over and grab it for L$50. I will add this one note. The collar is a part of the dress, there is no separate option for it. The rigging is a little wonky, mostly on the left side of the collar. I had to make a special AO, just so I could wear this without it getting all bungled on me. It is a vary minor issue, it might have more to do with my shape, than anything. I have a bit more muscle added to the default sliders.

I’d suggest getting the demo, throwing on some dances and AOs, and see how it works for you. It is a super lovely dress. The skirt part of it has a see-through lace, which has different options on the included hud. It makes for some nifty overlay combinations.

I have a really bad habit of getting things, and not using them for the purposes I intend. This gacha prize from a past round of Fantasy Gacha Carnival is just such an item. Spellbound made this cute Deer Headdress. As a demon, I am naturally drawn to things with horns, so when I take my more human appearance, it is nice to still have the option to have pointy things on my head.

It made me really feel the forest and the fae, so I created a sort of Fae Witch outfit, inspired by these. This is the one rare prize, that you are able to collect. There is another, with a unicorn horn, as well as a bunch of common prizes.

You can see all the options HERE.

***Note – When going to check slurls, I noticed that they just reopened, and everything hasn’t been brought out yet. You can either be patient, or go troll the yardsales, trying to find these. I was not aware at the time of the post, that the store just reopened, and wasn’t done setting up. 2 for 2 in this post, haha.***

Like I said in a previous post, there are a few times a year when I will actually request review packs, as I do actually set aside time to blog those events specifically. Skin Fair is one of those events.

Elysium Eilde was kind enough to not only send me her standard fair pack, but also the few items I specifically requested to feature. I am not one for hearts. I’ve never much felt the need to collect heart things, like some women do. But for some reason these stenciled really called to me, when I first saw them released. They had been on my “Wish List” for a bit, and am thankful she honored my request.

They come in 7 colours (Blue, Green, Grey, Pink, Darker Pink, Purple and Red). There is also a multitude of Appliers(Belleza, Slink, Maitreya, TMP and Omega), as well as the Legacy Tattoo Layers.

While these are not exclusive to Skin Faire 2015, they are a newer release, you just might have missed them.

You can view all the colour options HERE.

  1. thanks for including so many of my items in your blog post. i love that you like the tattoo even though you aren’t really into heart-y things…i was totally aiming for an illustration that included that symbol of love, but with a twist that made it less blatantly lovey-dovey.

  2. I think that was part why I did enjoy them, and the fact that there was multiple colours. I love tattoos, but I also liked that these were something a bit different. I remember in highschool, we use to use stencils and put patterns and whatnot on our arms, hands, jeans even, me and my best friend.

    I also like vines.

I am often surprised by things in sl, that I would have thought not something I would gravitate towards, but I do anyway.
